community after the building was torn down following

Laura Deckelman is a lifelong resident
of the Rockaways and a graduate of Far Rockaway High
School. She attended The New School for Social Research,
Hofstra and Queens College where she developed her skills
as both an artist and a photographer. Much of Laura's
exceptional work has chronicled and depicted the beautiful
shoreline along Jamaica Bay and other scenes throughout
the entire Rockaway Peninsula.
