Marty,

I only peek at the website once in a great while (and should do so more often). It is absolutely great.
I was prompted to do so tonight because I am in the middle of a business deal with a Long Island investment group. At a meeting on Monday I was delighted to find out that one of the group is also an FRHS grad, Barry Pomerantz, who, if memory serves me, graduated in 1960. ( I was 1950).

We reminisced especially about Mr. Tietze of whom I have many stories.

When Tietze asked us to write a paper about the Tennessee Valley Authority, I ended my discourse by saying 'the results have been electrifying'. The following week he returned the paper with a failing grade, and wrote in the margin "Ha Ha, I'm Historical".

Not to be out "humored" the following week a few of us were disrupting his class and he ordered me to report to his office after school at 3:30 for "detention". I explained that we had a baseball game that afternoon and I had to get into uniform and be on the field at that time. Well, he was unimpressed and said I "better be in his office" at 3:30".

So, I went down to the locker room at 3:00 PM, put on my baseball uniform, with spikes, and at 3:30 went clickety clack up the stairs and down the empty hallway making as much noise as I could. When I got to his office he had a big grin, took one look at the uniform and said "get the hell out of here".

There are many more, but another time.

Sid

P.S. Your photos and stories bring back many memories.
