What great trip! loved everthing about the Rockaways, first beer served at a bar was at Lietrim 103 street I was 15 and felt so grown up Other places remembered The White House, Mcnultys Mcguires and that clam bar on 98 street bring back so many memories and emotions A special shout out to JACK FITZGERALD a man I loved and respected.I had great time at his bar. He was always good to me and I never forgot. He always liked the song The Girl from Ipanima. How many kids are there Jack ? Well hello to Barbara and the rest of crew. My sister Kathy is going to love this . Thank you my dear brother John for sending this to me .I could go on and on but have to stop here for now, but I will be back to visit.

I'm out of Visitation 51 and Hayes 55. Coming out of the Kingsbridge Section of the West Bronx we had access to Tibbets Brook in Westchester and Orchard Beach in the East Bronx. When we wanted to go away for the weekend it was down to Inwood and on to the "A" train for Rockaway. Some time at the batting cage before hitting the bars with phoney draft cards. Sleeping under the broadwalk, Using broomsticks with gum on the end poking for change in Playland and church on Sunday before returning to the Bronx.Sometimes a little baskets against the McGuire's. A Outstanding existance and utilized in the early 60's after being discharged from the Corps. "UP CLARE"

Thanks so much for the memories. Just had lunch with a friend from Breezy on 116th St. I was pointing out different spots I remembered from "summering" in what I consider the greatest beach community in the USA during the late 50's and early 60's. Our family stayed in various bungalows over the years the most memorable being Susan court on 107th and St Marks and Betty court on 109th. Later years down on 97th and 90th. Absolutely the best years of my life. The present generation has no idea of what they have missed. All day and all night. There really was no reason to go home except to go to the "court parties". Thanks for the memories.

I was born in Rockaway Beach Hospital in 1940. Graduated from St. Francis de Sales and Stella Maris H.S. The pictures were great brings back a lot of old memories and makes you appreciate what a great experience it was to grow up in Rockaway. Great job.
